Las Vegas, known for its opulence, is currently under scrutiny due to a less-than-luxurious dining experience at a renowned five-star establishment. Despite the city’s reputation for high prices, the hotel is receiving criticism for serving a lackluster plate of loaded nachos.
A disgruntled customer took to social media to express disappointment after dining at the prestigious Fountainbleau Hotel on the Vegas Strip.
The customer shared a photo of their $24 nacho plate, consisting of only six soggy chips. To make matters worse, they endured a lengthy one-hour wait for the underwhelming dish.
Hey @fblasvegas we waited an hour for food in the Sportsbook and this is our nachos???

The controversy, dubbed #nachogate, saw various restaurants taking advantage of the situation.
They flooded social media with tempting photos of their appetizing nacho dishes, turning the culinary misstep into a promotional opportunity.
Hey, don’t forget about us! Our cheesey delicious nachos start at just $15 and you get a lot more than 6 chips! 🫣#nachogate #binions #whiskeylickerup pic.twitter.com/KqWHkmRHwc

In response to the backlash, the Fountainbleau Hotel introduced a new dish, Adobo Chicken Nachos, priced at $21 (approximately Rs 1,700), three days after the incident.
The hotel indirectly addressed the concerns, stating,
“The Tavern menu was designed to be ‘bar food favorites, all grown up.’ We hope you’ll excuse our growing pains while the nachos went through their awkward phase. We’re thrilled to report they’ve matured into one stacked snack.”

However, the response did not impress many, with one user expressing dissatisfaction, saying, ”
Your ‘new and improved’ plate still is not deserving of $21. Just because you are a new fancy hotel that costs billions doesn’t mean you should be overcharging. Your location is too far away from the rest of the action. I don’t see this hotel staying in business.”
