The controversy unfolded when Vicky Jain’s mother, Ranjana Jain, entered Bigg Boss 17 and expressed her disappointment over Ankita hitting Vicky with a slipper.
She criticized Ankita’s actions, even revealing that Vicky’s father contacted Ankita’s mother, questioning if Ankita had a history of violence towards her husband. This revelation left Ankita shocked and distressed, especially given the involvement of her late father in the discussion.
As Karan Johar took the stage during Weekend Ka Vaar, stepping in for Salman Khan, he addressed Vicky Jain’s apparent emotional detachment from Ankita’s ordeal.
While acknowledging that Vicky doesn’t necessarily have to take sides against his mother, Karan emphasized that, as a husband, Vicky should have shown concern for Ankita’s emotions. According to Karan, a simple inquiry about what happened and standing by Ankita’s side would have sufficed. He stated:
“Ankita ko aake aapse sawal puchti hai, to ek pati hone ke naate, aapko unke peeche khade hona chahiye. Aur mai ye nahi keh raha ki unhe kuchh bhi bolna chahiye apni maa ke khilaaf. All he had to do was ask you Ankita kya hua?”
Later, Vicky Jain approached Ankita to inquire about the situation, but seemingly supported his father’s actions. He suggested that his father’s perspective was that of a parent and criticized Ankita for losing control of her emotions on national television.
What did your father would have said? Ek father ko wo feeling aa sakti hai ya nahi aa sakti? Aap kahin pe apni cheez sambhal nahi paati hai an, or his tarah see aap use mere paas le kar aati hain, wo sahi nahi dikh raha national television par. Aap kab samjhogi is baat ko?”
