The Oscars 2023 ceremony witnessed many celebrities grace the prestigious platform and showcase their astonishing talents. Among them was the pride of India Deepika Padukone, who made a graceful appearance on stage that was hailed by the whole country including renowned celebrities.
One such celebrity was Kangana Ranaut, whose words of appreciation for Deepika surprised fans to great extent, given her previous criticisms of the Padmavat actor.
Taking to Twitter, Kangana wrote that it is not easy to stand on such a prestigious stage and
“hold the entire nation together.”
Her words of praise for Deepika’s performance were quite different from her previous comments, where she had commented on the actor’s battle with depression and her foundation to aid mental health issues in India.
However, Kangana’s comments did not come without controversy.

In a subsequent tweet, she reacted to the backlash she had received for her praise of Deepika, stating that while crediting undeserving people is wrong, it is a bigger issue when deserving people are not praised.

Kangana went on to say that while Bollywood celebrities may have failed in this regard, she follows the values of Krishna and believes that not giving deserving people credit is a bigger sin.
