Karan Johar’s popular talk show, “Koffee with Karan,” released its second episode featuring Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. During this episode, as Karan discussed the Deol family’s success, he also shared insights about working with Dharmendra in the film “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.” Dharmendra played a significant role in the movie, and a particular kissing scene involving his character and Shabana Azmi left fans awestruck.
Karan Johar admitted that he felt “awkward” when narrating this scene to the veteran actor Dharmendra, given the latter’s seniority and his deep respect for him.
Dharmendra’s response was unexpected. He simply asked, “So what is the problem?” and remarked, “Maine bahut kia hai” (I have done this many times), putting Karan at ease. The two seasoned actors treated the scene with professionalism, despite others making a bigger deal out of it due to their status as true artists.
Bobby Deol expressed his admiration for his father, describing his character as “magical.” He humorously commented that they often joke about how his father can kiss on screen and people will still find him cute. Sunny Deol also endorsed his father’s abilities, saying, “I said my Dad can do whatever he likes, and he gets away with it.” Bobby emphasized that Dharmendra’s performance was irreplaceable, and another actor in his role wouldn’t have worked as effectively.
This episode brought back memories of when Sunny and Bobby Deol appeared together on the first season of “Koffee with Karan.”
