Kangana Ranaut, one of Bollywood’s most prominent actresses, recently made headlines at the trailer launch of her upcoming film Emergency. Known for her acting prowess, candid nature, and diverse roles, Kangana has carved out a niche for herself in the Hindi film industry despite her humble beginnings.
After dedicating the past two years to directing Emergency, she also entered the political arena this year. With her growing political career, speculation has arisen about whether she will continue her Bollywood journey.
Kangana Ranaut Will Let the Audience Decide Her Bollywood Future
At the trailer launch of Emergency, Kangana addressed these rumors. She recently contested and won the Lok Sabha elections from the Mandi constituency, officially becoming a Member of Parliament in June 2024.
When asked if she plans to quit Bollywood, Kangana clarified that she hasn’t made any decisions yet and will leave it to the audience to determine her path. She stated:
“Whether I would continue to act, I think this is a question where I would like people to decide that. For example, I never said I wanted to be a leader. People should say you should be a leader. Whether a party does surveys or whatever the criteria was to give you a ticket, it is people’s choice that I should fight the elections. Now, tomorrow if Emergency works and if they want to see more of me, if I feel I can have success, I will continue.”
Kangana further added that if her political responsibilities require more of her time, she will devote herself to that. However, if the audience wishes to see her in films, she will continue her acting career. She emphasized that she will go where she feels needed, respected, and valued, letting life guide her decisions.
“Otherwise if I feel I have more success in politics and I am needed there more… We go where we feel needed, respected and valued. I will let life decide for me, I have no such plans that I will go here or there. I’m fine anywhere where I am needed to whatever is needed”.
Kangana Opens Up About Being Boycotted by the Film Industry
During the same event, Kangana claimed that many in the film industry have turned against her, attempting to sabotage her career. She stated that she has been boycotted by the industry, making it difficult for anyone to work with her. She expressed gratitude to her cast, acknowledging that standing by her and supporting her film wasn’t easy, but they did it nonetheless.
“I have faced many obstacles while making this film, which is common with every film. Every film faces a lot of obstacles and then they find many angels who support you through those obstacles. I want to say a special thanks to my cast. Everybody knows the film industry has boycotted me. Its not easy to stand with me, its not easy to be part of my film, and its definitely not easy to praise me. But, they have done all of it.”
