The neighboring countries and people of our country still vibe on his melodious albums Kabhi to Nazar Milao (with Asha Bhosle) and Tera Chehra, which reached heights on the charts.
His songs were highly acclaimed by fans and his soulful singing touched the heart of his uncountable admirers. He is the voice behind numerous Bollywood movies with superhit songs like Tu Sirf Mera Mehboob from Ajnabee, Aye Udi Udi from Saathiya, Gela Gela Gela from Aitraaz, and others.
Apart from his singing, he grabbed a lot of attention for his personal life as he used to be a Pakistani but gave up on the country and became an Indian citizen in 2016.
The reason he provided for this step was that the Pakistan government allegedly ‘mistreated’ him, and he revealed on Twitter that Pakistan has ‘major issues with the establishment and he has no issues with the people of Pakistan. The tweet read,
“Many people ask me why I have such contempt towards Pakistan. The hard truth is that I have no contempt towards the people of Pakistan who have been good to me. I love everyone who loves me- period. However, I have major issues with the establishment. Those who truly know me will also know what that establishment did to me for many years which ultimately became one of the big reasons for me to leave Pakistan”
