Shreyas Iyer, the Kolkata Knight Riders’ middle-order batsman and captain, is currently enjoying good form in the ongoing IPL 2024 season. His team remains undefeated so far, marking a successful streak for Iyer.
Before the IPL, Iyer had faced challenges due to injury and his aspirations to participate in domestic cricket, but those concerns seem to have been resolved. Recently, Shreyas Iyer made an appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show alongside Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma.
During the show, both players fielded various questions, leading to some intriguing revelations. Rohit Sharma shared insights from the Indian team dressing room and their strategies on the field, while Shreyas Iyer addressed queries about his injury and return to competitive cricket.
On The Kapil Sharma Show, which aired on Saturday, April 6, on the OTT platform Netflix, Kapil Sharma humorously pointed out that whenever Shreyas Iyer hits a boundary, the cameraman zooms in on girls holding posters that read ‘Shreyas Marry Me!’ Kapil also highlighted that Shreyas is currently unmarried.

ToggleDuring the show, Shreyas was asked if he notices the camera focusing on young girls with such posters after his innings.
In response, the KKR captain made a lighthearted confession, reminiscing about an incident from his first IPL season. He disclosed that he once noticed a particularly beautiful girl in the stands and hoped to receive a message from her on Facebook. Shreyas shared,
“During my first IPL season, I noticed a very beautiful girl in the stands, and I waved hello to her. This happened many years ago when Facebook was quite popular. I kept checking, hoping for a message. That’s the only incident like that which happened to me.”
Shreyas revealed that Rohit Sharma has been his idol since his younger days.
When asked about his idol, Iyer admitted it was Rohit Sharma, explaining that it wasn’t just because Rohit was sitting beside him. He stated,
“Joke nahi kar raha hoon ya aise he butter up nahi kar raha hoon. But, Rohit bhai chote se idol rahe hai kyuki vo Mumbai se hai and mein bhi waha se hi hoon. Unko dekhte hue mai grow hua hoon.”
This revelation sparked laughter among the show’s attendees. Rohit Sharma added humorously that the current crop of young cricketers often talk behind his back in the dressing room, remarking,
“Dressing room mein bahut gaaliya dete hai. Ye saamne abhi log hai, camera hai. Aajkal ke youngsters dangerous hai bahut”
