Well, fans and admirers are well aware of the fact that Actor Manoj Bajpayee worked with veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra in the epic romance saga Veer Zaara (2004). Manoj played the role of Zaara’s fiance in the film and the actor now reveals he agreed to do it only because he wanted to work with Yash Chopra once. Manoj shares to have been inspired by the life of the legendary director.
Manoj shared some incidents of the days of being cast in the film and that he was also happy to reunite with his old friend SRK.
He expressed in an interview with Humans of Bombay,
“Shah Rukh, I have known for many years from my days in Delhi, so it was also a chance to catch up. Because we don’t meet up, we belong to two different kinds of films and filmmaking. So, it was a chance to catch up with him and also enjoy being on the sets of Mr Yash Chopra, who had been such a magnificent, successful mainstream director for so many years.”
Bajpayee added,
“We grew up watching his films! We used to chat for long, both Yash ji and me. He was very clear in telling me, ‘I don’t make films for an actor like you, so I don’t think I would have anything else in the future, but this is very good and it will be great if you agree to do it.’ He was such a humble man.”
Meanwhile on the work front, Manoj was last seen in the Disney+ Hotstar’s Gulmohar and will soon be seen in Despatch and Joram later this year.
