Fans of SS Rajamouli’s period drama film RRR are delighted and excited at the same time as the movie gets one step closer to the Oscars. The movie’s popular dance number Naatu Naatuwas recently shortlisted for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards. Following the nomination, the movie’s lead star Ram Charan reacted to the movie’s huge success and called it a ‘Historic moment.
Ram Charan expressed his joy as RRR’s song Naatu Naatu became the first Indian song to get shortlisted for the Oscars. He took his Twitter and penned down a note, Charan wrote,
“What a historic moment for the entire Indian Film Industry… Couldn’t be more honored to note that #NaatuNaatu becomes the first Indian song to be shortlisted for the Academy Awards! @ssrajamouli garu and @mmkeeravaani garu, it’s all your vision and magic..#RRRForOscars.”

Meanwhile, India’s official entry for Best International Feature, The Last Show, is also a step closer, as it was also short-listed. SS Rajamouli’s film had previously received two major nominations at Golden Globes Award, Best Picture – Non-English Language and Naatu Naatu for Best Original Song – Motion Picture.
