In a couple of months from now, it would be three years since the tragic and sudden demise of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. His death left shockwaves not only in India but across the world and triggered a discussion on depression and also a legal case that still continues to haunt the family and close friends of the late actor.
In the most recent conversation with The Bombay Journey with Siddharth Aalambayan, Manoj Bajpayee remembered the late actor and recalled his experience of working with him. The gangs of Wasseypur actor had only good things to say about the late actor. Bajpayee also recalled a text Sushant Singh Rajput sent him just before the pandemic just started.
The seasoned actor remembered working with Sushant Singh Rajput in the 2019 film Sonchiriya. He described the late actor as a ‘lovely young man’ and added,
“I spent many good days with him. He used to discuss many things with me”.
Bajpayee also recalled feeding mutton to the crew during the shoot.
“Just before the pandemic when I left for my shooting in Uttarakhand, I got a text from him (Sushant Singh Rajput)
that read
‘Manoj sir, muje ek baar mutton khilao na apne gharpe bulake’. I had told him that I would feed him mutton as soon as I come back from the shooting,’‘
he said. The family man actor also got candid about having a hard time after the news of Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide.
”I feel sad. His death disturbed me for 2 months. The way he went was devastating not only for his family but for everyone who has known him so closely,” Manoj Bajpayee concluded.
