As we are about to enter 2023, the list of the most Googled people in India in 2022 is out now. From actor Sushmita Sen to Kacha Badam fame Anjali Arora, the list comprises people from multiple fields. The top 10 list includes the likes of actors, political figures, reality show personalities, and more.
Moreover, it is quite surprising that the former cricketer Tambe is the only sportsperson who made it to the top 10. Three people in the top 10 are non-Indians, including Hollywood actor Amber Heard.
Most Googled People of 2022
Nupur Sharma
Former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma was the most Googled person in India in 2022. Nupur Sharma is a lawyer and political figure. She was suspended from the party in June 2022 after allegedly making controversial comments that hurt the religious sentiments of the Muslim community. A lot of controversies took place and she was being extensively searched on Google.
Droupadi Murmu
Droupadi Murmu was sworn in as the 15th president of India in July 2022. She is the second-most Googled Indian in 2022. Murmu is the first tribal and the second woman after Pratibha Patil to become president of India.
Rishi Sunak
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since October 2022, Rishi Sunak bagged the third spot on the list. Sunak has Indian roots and that is why Indians celebrated his appointment as the new British PM and he made headlines throughout the country.
Lalit Modi
Businessman and former cricket administrator Lalit Modi made his relationship with actress Sushmita Sen official earlier this year, which made him the fourth-most searched Indian on Google in 2022. Modi, who is widely known as the founder of the Indian Premier League (IPL), confirmed in an Instagram post that he was dating the former Miss Universe Sushmita.

Lalit Modi is followed on the list by Sushmita Sen for the same reason. However, it is rumored that the couple parted ways shortly after making their relationship official.
Anjali Arora
Kacha Badam fame Anjali Arora has also found herself in the list of top 10 most searched Indians on Google. Anjali Arora is a social media sensation who has over 12 million followers on Instagram. She was a contestant on Kangana Ranaut’s reality show Lock Upp and made headlines quite often.
Abdu Rozik
19-year-old Tajik musician, boxer, and blogger, Abdu Rozik grabbed the limelight after being confirmed as one of the participants in the ongoing Bigg Boss 16. According to reports, Rozik holds the record for being the world’s smallest singer due to his stunted growth caused by Growth Hormone Deficiency.
Eknath Shinde
Another renowned political figure on the list is the current Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde. Formerly the Cabinet Minister of Urban Development and Public Works in the Government of Maharashtra, Shinde was appointed as the state’s CM in June 2022.
Pravin Tambe
Surprisingly, Pravin Tambe is the only sportsperson on the list. The former cricketer trended on Google after the release of his biopic Kaun Pravin Tambe? in April 2022. The film features Shreyas Talpade as Tambe, who was lauded by the viewers. Tambe made his IPL debut at the age of 41, the oldest-ever IPL debutant.
Amber Heard
Amber Heard was in headlines throughout the year due to her defamation trial against actor and ex-husband Johnny Depp. While she was the tenth-most Googled person in India, she was also the third-most Googled person in the world in 2022.
