The world’s largest film industry widely known as ‘Bollywood’ was established in the 1930s and it’s been so many decades now. A lot of things have changed in the B-Town Since then be it cinematography, the plot of the movies, or the music, and these changes and modifications were necessary as we are about to enter 2023 now.

Nowadays, many people are of opinion that Bollywood is a master in the art of copying the content of other film industries. However, it is also true that Indian cinema has evolved separately from Hollywood and retains its characteristics.

Even after so many changes over time, there are still some stereotypes that need to be broken in Bollywood now. Well, if you are a true Bollywood fan, you may have guessed some of them but here ‘s the list of some most common stereotypes that are shown in Bollywood films.

Punjabi NRIs in Bollywood Films

In every other Bollywood that is based on the theme of NRIs, NRI s always belong to a Punjabi family. Aditya Chopra started this trend and Karan Johar mastered it.

Namaste London, Bend it like Beckham, and Monsoon Wedding are some of the perfect examples.

Surprise Witnesses

In every Hindi film that revolves around court cases, surprise witnesses who were never seen in the whole movie make an entry in the climax of the movie, and just as that case gets resolved. Wow, what a plot twist. And for clarification, the lawyers say that if they had revealed the witnesses, the opposite party may have attempted to kill that person.

Jolly LLB and Jolly LLB 2 are to name a few.

Rich Girl with zero ambitions

There will always be a rich girl who doesn’t know what to do in life and she fell for a middle-class guy who helps her realize about her ambitions and dreams and turn them into a reality.

This mostly happens in Karan Johar’s movies and Shanaya from the student of the year played by Alia Bhatt is the perfect example.

Police Constable Names

You will find that mostly in every other Bollywood Film, the police constable’s name or surname would be Shinde, Tawade, Patil, or Pandey.

Goa Plot

If the plot of the movie is based on Goa, the outfit of every character will be so colorful just like little munchkins. And Goa is also the most common destination for discussions as shown in the movies.

Marathi House help in every Bollywood Film

Well, we bet you have witnessed this thing yourself in every single Bollywood movie where the character of households always belongs to a Marathi community, and they will end every dialogue with Aai Ga Or Arey Deva.
