The most popular Hindi film on OTT is Cuttputlli, starring Akshay Kumar. It is followed by A Thursday and Govinda Naam Mera. Check out the most popular shows in Hindi online.
According to an Ormax analysis, despite Akshay Kumar’s lackluster 2022 at the box office, his direct-to-digital flick Cuttputlli was the year’s most-viewed Hindi film. Similarly to Cuttputlli, Ajay Devgn’s Rudra: The Edge of Darkness was the most popular web series.
In this psychological crime thriller, Akshay is on the hunt for a serial murderer who kidnaps and brutally kills young women who attend a prestigious private school. Rakul Preet Singh portrayed the principal female role in the film.
Yami Gautam and Neha Dhupia’s A Thursday and Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, and Bhumi Pednekar’s Govinda Naam Mera follow Cuttputtli in the rankings. Fourth and fifth place goes to Deepika Padukone and Kartik Aaryan’s respective films Gehraiyaan and Freddy.
In Rudra, Ajay Devgn plays the lead role of the policeman who is chasing a suspect who ends up in the hospital in a coma. Esha Deol and Rashii Khanna both make appearances.
After this season, Bobby Deol’s Aashram and Neena Gupta’s Panchayat take the next two spots, respectively.
Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach, which starred Pankaj Tripathi and also included Shweta Basu Prasad, Purab Kohli, and Swastika Mukherjee, ranked fourth. Fifth place goes to The Great Indian Murder, starring Richa Chadha, Pratik Gandhi, and Ashutosh Rana and directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.
Primary research among Indian audiences was used to extrapolate the Ormax report’s weekly viewing estimates to the OTT universe in India. It takes into consideration the total number of users who viewed at least one complete episode of the program or at least 30 minutes of the film, and not the total number of accounts that were used to watch the show or film.
