Encountering a mix-up in online orders is not an uncommon occurrence, yet receiving a package filled with stones instead of the expected smartphone is certainly unexpected. In a recent incident in Ghaziabad, a man found himself in a peculiar situation after placing an order on the popular e-commerce platform Flipkart.
The customer, anticipating the delivery of his ₹22,548 Infinix Zero 30 5G smartphone, was met with disappointment upon unboxing the package, only to discover stones inside instead of the expected mobile device.
Adding to his dismay, his attempt to return the package was met with rejection by Flipkart.
Frustrated, he took to social media platform X to share his experience, which quickly gained traction online. His post included images showcasing the Flipkart order, the denied return request, and the package containing stones. Abhishek Patni, the individual affected, captioned the post expressing his dismay over the incident.
The incident drew widespread attention, prompting questions regarding the quality control measures implemented by online retailers. In response to the viral post, Flipkart issued an apology, assuring the customer of a thorough investigation into the matter and pledging to prevent such occurrences in the future.
In addition to addressing the specific incident, Flipkart also cautioned customers against engaging with fake social media accounts impersonating the brand. The company emphasized the importance of vigilance while making online purchases.
