Officials have indicated that KFC could establish a presence in Ayodhya, contingent upon transitioning to vegetarian fare, as per a report by Moneycontrol. With the inauguration of the Ram Temple, Ayodhya has witnessed a surge in pilgrims and tourists.
Numerous eateries offering delectable vegetarian cuisines have emerged near the temple to accommodate the influx of visitors. In addition to traditional Indian dishes, patrons can relish fast food options such as pizzas from Domino’s, conveniently located just a kilometer from the temple.
In order to operate along the Panch Kosi Parikrama, a 15-kilometer pilgrimage route encircling Ayodhya’s sacred sites associated with the Ramayana, food establishments must abstain from serving meat and alcohol.
Wouldn't the Ayodhya official also insist on dropping the 'C' in 'KFC' then? That word cannot be uttered in the vicinity of a Hindu God, after all, eh?😒 pic.twitter.com/Ywbrxj3bJN

Vishal Singh, a government official in Ayodhya, was quoted by Moneycontrol, stating that they have received proposals from major food chain outlets seeking to establish their businesses in the city. Singh extended a warm welcome to them, while stressing the condition that they refrain from serving non-vegetarian items within the Panch Kosi area.

Notably, food outlets like KFC are absent along the 14 Kosi Parikrama Marg due to their offerings of non-vegetarian fare.
Singh mentioned,
“KFC has opted to set up its store along the Ayodhya-Lucknow highway because we do not permit non-vegetarian food here. However, if KFC chooses to provide solely vegetarian options, we are open to accommodating them.”
Pizza Hut, situated approximately 8 kilometers away from the Ram Temple, is thriving in terms of business. Nevertheless, they express a sense of regret for not having a closer presence to the temple. Despite being outside the Panch Kosi Parikrama Marg, the Pizza Hut outlet in Ayodhya exclusively serves vegetarian cuisine.
