As we all know, one of the most popular television reality shows Bigg Boss is currently hosted by Salman Khan. The show is an adaptation of the Dutch reality show Big Brother. The show went on to become one of the most-watched shows in India after its debut in 2006.
The reality program which was originally started in Hindi has been extended into seven languages because of its massive popularity throughout the country.
Most people are unaware of the fact that Arshad Warsi was the first host of the show. He was replaced by Shilpa Shetty Kundra as host for the second season, who was replaced by Amitabh Bachchan in season 3. From season 4 onwards, Salman Khan has been the host of Bigg Boss.
The show returned for its 16th installment in October 2022. The Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor, who has a net worth of a whopping 3,000 crore reportedly, is one of the highest-paid celebrities in India. Apart from movies, Khan earned a huge amount of money from hosting Bigg Boss for a number of years.

Here’s how much money Salman Khan has charged for each season of Big Boss over the years
Seasons 4 to 6
After season 3, Salman Khan replaced Amitabh Bachchan as host for season 4 of Bigg Boss and continues to hold the post to date in 2022. Reportedly, the actor was paid Rs 2.5 crore for each episode from seasons 4 to 6. Season 4 was won by Shweta Tiwari, while Juhi Parmar and Urvashi Dholakia were declared the winners of seasons 5 and 6.
Season 7
According to reports, Salman Khan doubled his fee to Rs 5 crore per episode for season 7. The season lasted for 15 weeks after being aired on September 15, 2013 and was won by Gauahar Khan.
Season 8 –
For the next season, Sallu Bhai hiked his fee by Rs 50 lakh. For each episode of Bigg Boss 8, which was won by Gautam Gulati, Salman Khan charged Rs 5.5 crore.
Seasons 9 & 10
Salman Khan charged between Rs 7 crore to Rs 8 crore for season 9, and Rs 8 crore for season 10. Prince Narula won in the ninth season, while Manveer Gurjar emerged as the winner of the 10th season.
Season 11
For the 11th season, there have been different reports on how much money Salman Khan charged for each episode. “Please make Raj (Nayak, Endemol Shine India COO) pay me that amount,” the actor had joked in a press conference when the media reported his fee per episode for season 11 to be Rs 11 crore.
But reportedly he charged somewhere around that amount for each episode of season 11, which was won by Shilpa Shinde.
Season 12
As per News18, Salman Khan charged between Rs 12 crore to Rs 14 crore for each episode of season 12, which lasted 106 days. Dipika Kakkar won season 12.
Season 13
According to sources, Salman Khan charged Rs 15.50 crore per episode of season 13, in which the late actor Siddharth Shukla emerged as the winner.
Season 14
For each episode of season 14, Salman Khan is believed to have charged Rs 20 crore. That season, Rubina Dilaik was declared the winner.
Season 15
As per Times of India, Salman Khan was paid Rs 15 crore for each episode of season 15.
Season 16
For the 16th installment of Bigg Boss which is airing at present, Salman Khan has demanded a threefold increase in his fee and has charged a whopping Rs 1,000 crore for the entire season.
