Flying by airplane has become a highly popular mode of transportation worldwide in recent times due to its speed, safety, and convenience. However, inadequate airport management can lead to various issues such as safety hazards, flight delays, and lost baggage, causing frustration and inconvenience for travelers.
The improper handling of luggage is a significant area of concern, with numerous passengers experiencing delays or missing luggage, particularly distressing for those carrying essential items or on a tight schedule. Furthermore, some passengers have even lost valuable possessions due to the negligence of airline staff.
For example, a recent incident at Delhi Airport involved a passenger losing her pet kitten due to Air India’s carelessness.
How did a passenger lose a kitten at Delhi airport?
Air India is facing criticism from a passenger who has accused the airline of mismanagement following the disappearance of her pet cat at Delhi airport. Jangneichong Karong was traveling with her two kittens from Delhi to Imphal but was informed at the check-in desk that she could not bring the animals into the cabin.
She was given the option to reschedule her ticket or upgrade to business class in order to bring the kittens along. As neither of these options was feasible, she agreed to have the cats transported by cargo. Upon arrival at her destination, she was informed that one of the kittens had gone missing from the cage.
A passenger alleges negligence on the part of Air India
The passenger has reportedly sent a letter to Air India, in which she blamed the airline’s crew for the loss of her kitten and accused them of incompetence. She expressed her frustration that she was almost forced to fly with only one of her cats and claimed that her requests for CCTV footage were disregarded. In the meantime, the passenger’s friend has taken to social media to share the incident, tagging Ratan Tata and urging Air India to take responsibility for its actions and make things right.
Taking to Twitter, her friend Sony S. Somar wrote,
My friend’s pet is missing due to negligence by @airindiain staff. This is a heart-wrenching tragedy and your negligence is inexcusable. You must take responsibility for your actions and make things right immediately. @RNTata2000 A few screenshots explaining what happened.

Karong commented on the post and said that Air India had expressed regret for what happened over a call
She commented,
I got a call to extend their apologies, but it’s not the apologies that I need now, but my kitten to be reunited with her brother. Makes me question how actively they are searching. Do u have cctv at all @airindia A kitten not train med to fast will not stay hungry for 3 days

Day 6 and still no update from @airindiain. No proper correspondence about what's been done and lately the management has only been ignoring calls. https://t.co/4Cn3gL6Gsk
