RCB Women Created History By Winning WPL 2024
RCB displayed a flawless performance in the final of WPL 2024. Initially, they faced a tough challenge with Delhi Capitals posting a solid 64-run partnership between Shafali Verma (43) and Meg Lanning (23). However, Sophie Molineux’s outstanding triple-wicket maiden over turned the tide of the game in RCB’s favor.
After this, RCB’s bowlers maintained their grip on the match, preventing Delhi Capitals from gaining momentum. Shreyanka Patil shone with a superb four-wicket haul, supported by Asha Sobhana who claimed two wickets. Eventually, Delhi Capitals were restricted to just 113 runs, thanks to RCB’s sensational bowling effort.
Later on, during the chase, RCB initially had a slow start with the bat. Sophie Devine (31) and Smriti Mandhana ensured they didn’t lose wickets during the powerplay, adding 49 runs. Mandhana (31) and Ellyse Perry then took control, adding 33 runs for the second wicket.
Mandhana departed in the 15th over, but Perry (35*) guided the team to victory with an unbeaten innings. Rich Ghosh (17*) provided valuable support as RCB won by 8 wickets to claim their first-ever league title.
Fans on Twitter went absolutely berserk after RCB’s historic win. Fans lauded the team for their outstanding performance throughout the tournament and shared joyful reactions to their well-deserved triumph. Several cricketers and prominent people also joined the bandwagon and reacted to the win.

Heartiest congratulations to the RCB Women’s Team for winning the WPL. It would be a fantastic double if the RCB Men’s Team won the IPL which is long overdue. Good Luck.
