After Elon Musk took over the micro-blogging site Twitter it was announced that verified Twitter accounts need to pay a fixed subscription fee to keep the blue ticks on their verified accounts. And recently, several ‘Recognized’ Twitter accounts lost their Blue Ticks on Friday morning.
Twitter is removing the verified status by removing the blue ticks from those accounts that have not paid the mentioned subscription fee per month. The Twitter Blue subscription is available for a monthly fee of Rs 650 on the web and Rs 900 on mobile devices.
There are almost 4 lakh users renowned personalities who lost their Twitter blue ticks recently. Renowned personalities like Hillary Clinton, Bill Gates, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan lost their blue ticks from their accounts.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and several chief ministers also lost their verified blue ticks on their Twitter accounts. Among cricketing personalities, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Sachin Tendulkar have lost their verified checkmarks.
This move by Twitter led to questions being raised by the well-known personalities as well as their fans.
Recently, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar made his Q&A #AskSachin debut on Twitter where he gave permission to his fans to ask him questions that he would answer. He wrote,

Among the fans, one fan of Sachin Tendulkar grabbed attention when he got an answer from the Master Blaster.
One of the fans asked Sachin Tendulkar that without the Blue Checkmark how would he know who the real Sachin Tendulkar is on Twitter
The fan asked,
“Now that, you don’t have the blue tick, how can we be sure that you’re the real Sachin Tendulkar?”
The Master Blaster gave a perfect adorable reply to the worried fan
Tendulkar replied with a picture of him smiling and wrote,
“As of now, this is my blue tick verification!”

It was made clear that the site will remove the blue ticks from accounts that don’t pay a monthly subscription for the service on Thursday.
The official Twitter Verified account tweeted on Wednesday,
“Tomorrow, 4/20, we are removing legacy verified checkmarks”

And from now on, only users that pay for the premium Twitter Blue subscription will get the verified credential on their profiles.
