Kusha Kapila, a prominent figure in the entertainment industry known for her comedic content, recently found herself addressing a controversial incident involving Elvish Yadav, the winner of ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’, who referred to her as ‘Sasti Kareena Kapoor’ in a roast video.
Kusha Kapila, renowned for her humorous content and recent venture into Bollywood with her appearance in “Thank You For Coming,” has been open about her personal life, including her divorce from Zorawar Ahluwalia in 2023, which subjected her to online trolling.
Despite facing criticism, Kusha has consistently displayed her wit in responding to detractors. The incident involving Elvish Yadav occurred some time ago, and Kusha has since addressed it.
During a recent interview with The Lallantop, Kusha Kapila addressed the controversy surrounding Elvish Yadav’s remark. She expressed her disapproval of being compared to Kareena Kapoor, emphasizing the importance of obtaining consent, particularly from the individual being likened to. Kusha cleverly referenced a popular meme, suggesting that no one should speak before seeking permission, and emphasized the need for respecting individuals’ identities. She stated:
“What does this mean? Kareena Kapoor has not consented to this. First, ask her; she is the begum. How can you use her name anywhere? It’s wrong. Haven’t you seen the meme, Elvish Bhai Ke Aage Koi Bol Sakta Hai Kya ‘No one can speak before Elvish’? (Translated from Hindi).”
Additionally, Kusha revealed that following the incident, Elvish Yadav attempted to reconcile, expressing a desire to be friends.
However, Kusha recounted an encounter where Elvish informed her male co-stars that she still had him blocked on Instagram, indicating her firm stance on the matter.
The incident stemmed from a roast session organized by Elvish Yadav during the pandemic, in collaboration with Lakshay Chaudhary, targeting Kusha and other female influencers. The session received criticism for its misogynistic and sexist undertones. In response, Kusha released an ‘un-roast’ video, challenging the portrayal and standing up against such derogatory remarks.
Kusha Kapila’s personal life, including her marriage to Zorawar Ahluwalia and subsequent separation, has been subject to public scrutiny. Despite rumors linking her romantically to Arjun Kapoor and speculations about her involvement in his breakup with Malaika Arora, Kusha has vehemently denied such claims.
