“More than 6000,000 people have seen this film so far in India. A new chapter begins today. THE KERALA STORY is releasing more than 40 countries together…More and more numbers are going to get added. More and more blessings, love, and adulation will overwhelm us. We shall feel more responsible. More humble. Moreover, the movie has been declared tax-free in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh.
The Kerala Story has been involved in controversy because of its storyline. The plot of the movie revolves around three Hindu women from Kerala who get converted to Islam and then join ISIS. The makers mentioned 32,000 Hindu women instead of 3 in its trailer and promotional videos, which sparked controversy. They corrected the numbers later as they received heavy backlash from the audience. Reportedly, the movie is based on true stories.
