Recently, Nawaz was spotted in Delhi for an event where he expressed that filmmakers are not held responsible for their failures. He said every time the actors have to take the blame when movies don’t work at the box office. However, celebs like SRK have a massive fan following that will always support them.
Nawazuddin also told that he never runs away from hard work, whether a movie works or not also depends on many other reasons apart from just a star cast. He added,
“More often than not, there are so many reasons that a film doesn’t work at the box office. Maybe the direction is not so good. We never blame any director when a film flops at the box office. We always blamed actors, saying, ‘Iss actor ki film flop ho Gayi.'”
Referring to celebrities with a humungous fan following like Shah Rukh Khan who has admirers worldwide, Nawazuddin further explained, when celebs like SRK come on board for a film
“He literally serves those fans on a platter to the director.”
He said,
“If the film still doesn’t work despite all of that then it’s not Shah Rukh Khan’s fault because we toh thaali mein itni Saari audience de Raha hai na director ko.”
“This clearly means that either the director or the story is at fault. Nobody blames them. So, I’m not bothered about all these things,”
the actor said.
In 2022, we have witnessed big celebs like Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan face a similar backlash over the flops of several movies. Laal Singh Chadha and Samrat Prithviraj have been some of the most anticipated movies that failed to impress with their box office collection.
On the work front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was last seen in Heropanti 2 and has multiple films in the pipeline including Tiku Weds Sheru, Jogira Sara Ra Ra, Haddi and more.
