With anticipation reaching a crescendo across the nation, the official inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is scheduled for January 22, 2024, at noon, coinciding with the auspicious Abhijeet Muhurat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are expected to be present at this historically significant event.
The construction of the Ram Temple is a collaborative effort, with contributions pouring in not only from various parts of India but also from overseas.
Thailand’s gesture of providing holy soil to the Ramjanmabhoomi stands out as a noteworthy cultural contribution. Additionally, the country donated water from its sacred rivers for the temple dedicated to Lord Ram.
Uttar Pradesh is gearing up to celebrate the consecration ceremony of the temple in Ayodhya as a major festival. Extensive planning has preceded the event, with invitations sent to over 7,000 people, including 3,000 VIPs encompassing politicians, business leaders, entertainers, and cricket players.
Adding a touch of nostalgia, special invitations have been extended to the revered Ramayan actors, Arun Govil (as Ram) and Dipika (as Sita), intensifying the nationwide excitement surrounding this historic occasion.
Amidst the fervor, Dipika Chikhlia has made a special appeal to PM Modi regarding the Ram Mandir Consecration Ceremony in Ayodhya.
Her plea has gained widespread attention, with numerous reactions and discussions circulating online.
Renowned for her portrayal of Sita Mata in the original Ramayan series, Dipika Chikhlia expressed her heartfelt desire to see the Sita idol placed next to Lord Ram in Ayodhya. Speaking to Aaj Tak, she conveyed her long-standing belief that both statues should be placed together, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to consider this arrangement.
She stated,
“Mujhe humesha laga tha ki Ramji ke bagal me Sitaji ki moorti hogi. Main humare Prime Minister ko request karna chahti hoon ki woh Ayodhya mein Ram ke saath Sitaji ki murti ko bhi viraajmaan karein.”
Dipika Chikhlia emphasized the profound impact and uplifting effect such a choice would have on women throughout the country by placing Mother Sita’s statue next to Lord Ram’s.
Confirming her invitation to the formal ceremony, Dipika Chikhlia hinted at the possibility of Arun Govil, who played Lord Ram in the classic television series, joining her in Ayodhya. In an interview with PTI, she expressed her excitement, stating,
“Yes, we have been invited to Ayodhya on January 22… It will be something magical and a historic moment.”
Reflecting on her role as Sita, she added,
“I have always said that I am very blessed that I could play Sita ji in ‘Ramayan’. It has been a very divine experience to be a part of something as magical as ‘Ramayan’. I enjoyed my journey throughout. I was one of those few actors who played Sita… but I continued to remain Sita ji till date. So I think we have all been very blessed.”
