Once again, in another horrifying incident that stunned the national capital yesterday, Delhi’s Commission for Women’s chief Swati Maliwal was harassed by a drunk driver who returned to abuse her and then dragged her for about 15 meters.
Swati Maliwal and her team were on a daily inspection to check how safe Delhi streets and roads were at night. The drunk man passed obscene gestures and forced her to sit in his vehicle.
Swati’s hand accidentally got stuck in the heavily inebriated man’s car. The man went on to press the accelerator and dragged Maliwal for about 10-15 meters opposite AIIMS gate number 2.

"…He dragged me for 10-15m. A man from my team & I screamed & then he left me. Had he not, something like Anjali would've happened to me…." pic.twitter.com/bVnXcinjPq

Only when the activist screamed, the driver came to a halt, before running away off from the scene.
Recalling the horrific ordeal, Maliwal mentioned that she could have faced the same plight of another horrific dragging victim Anjali Singh who was dragged to death for about 10 kilometers on New Year’s Eve.
Anjali had traumatic injuries including her ‘brain matter’ missing. It is not even a month and a similar incident took place!
If Swati Maliwal is not safe, what about the ordinary amongst us in the country?

It’s been so many years we are hearing such horrific incidents almost every other day but sadly no strict rules and regulations have been implemented yet.
