Hardik was announced as the new captain of the Mumbai Indians on Friday, just 20 days after completing his trade back to MI from the Gujarat Titans.
Subsequently, reports surfaced on Saturday afternoon suggesting that Hardik Pandya had insisted on immediately assuming the captaincy as a condition for agreeing to the trade. Faced with the urgency of finding a captain and having not reached the final in the last three seasons, the Mumbai Indians, owned by the Ambani family, acquiesced to Hardik’s terms.
In the midst of this unfolding drama, CSK fans reflected on Suresh Raina’s unblemished career, noting that he never incited or participated in any controversies and always remained loyal to MS Dhoni.
Even amid Ravindra Jadeja’s significant fallout with MS Dhoni and the CSK franchise in 2022, fans recalled how Raina was content in his supporting role as the “Chinna Thala” to Thala MS Dhoni.

Raina, concluding his IPL career with 5528 runs in 205 matches, held an average of 32 and a strike rate of 136, including one century and 39 half-centuries. Having gone unsold in the IPL 2022 mega-auction, Raina promptly retired and has since transitioned into a regular commentator.
