In the latest episode of Shark Tank India season 3, Jeevika Tyagi, the Co-founder and CEO of athleisure startup Aastey, has stirred up a storm within the entrepreneurial community on social media. Following her appearance on the show, Tyagi took to her personal social media platform to express her discontent.
Tyagi not only criticized Judge Namita Thapar but also accused Sony of manipulating the footage. In a video captioned, ”Despite the episode being titled ‘Celebrating entrepreneurial breakthroughs,’ the theme seems to be ‘Is this financial indiscipline’?,” Tyagi remarked, ”I believe Namita’s judgment reflects a significant ‘financial indiscipline’ in failing to grasp a minor aspect.”
She went on to highlight the discrepancies in the episode’s focus on their inventory and the questions raised about why they weren’t selling it. Tyagi questioned the source of their inventory funding, stating,
”Have all Rs 10 crores been spent on marketing? Where did the inventory funds come from? Where is the inventory stored? What about the team’s salaries and operational costs? Sony conveniently edited out all these crucial details.”
Not only did she slammed Judge Namita Thapar but she also accused Sony of dishonest editing.
In the video captioned,
”Even though the episode is called ‘Celebrating entrepreneurial breakthroughs’, theme poster pe likha hai ‘Is this financial indiscipline’?”, Jeevika Tyagi said, ”Muje lagta hai Namita yeh bohot hi bada ‘Financial indiscipline’ hai ki ek choti si baat aapko nahi samajh aayi.”
She continued,
”Agar episode ka theme hamari inventory ke upar hai aur sablog discuss kar rahe hai ki hum apni inventory kyu nahi bech rahe. Woh inventory kaha se aayi? Saare Rs 10 crore humne marketing pe kharch kar diye? Inventory ka paisa kaha se aaya? Inventory kaha stored hai? Team ke paise, business operations ke paise? Jo saara part aur break down Sony ne edit out kar diya hai, uska kya?

In the video, Thapar retorted,
”You took Rs 10 crore from the investors and primarily spent it on marketing? I’m out.”
Despite Tyagi’s intention to share insights from her episode, the video faced backlash from netizens who criticized her for attempting to school Namita Thapar, the Executive Director – India Business of Emcure Pharmaceuticals.
One user commented,‘
Tyagi also responded to Vineeta Singh’s opinion on ‘the company’s financial indiscipline after receiving funding very easily’ with statistical reasoning.
This incident adds another layer to the ongoing saga of Shark Tank India season 3, raising questions about fairness and transparency in reality TV editing.
