Despite the proliferation of online meal delivery services, unresolved issues persist within the industry, chief among them being the treatment and conduct of frontline workers commonly referred to as “delivery boys” or “delivery partners.” Instances of unethical behavior, such as theft, order tampering, or discourteous interactions with customers, have tarnished the reputation of delivery services and undermined trust within the industry.
A recent incident, brought to light through social media, depicted a Swiggy Instamart delivery person allegedly committing theft.
The CCTV footage, which has garnered significant attention online, captured the delivery agent appearing to pilfer a pair of shoes from outside a residential apartment after completing a delivery. The incident sparked outrage among viewers and prompted swift condemnation across various online platforms.

In response to the incident, Swiggy’s official support account, Swiggy Cares, issued a public statement expressing disapproval of the delivery partner’s actions and pledging to investigate the matter further.
