A terrorist attack on a bus in Reasi coincided with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony, sparking condemnation from Bollywood celebrities.
On June 9, armed terrorists targeted a bus carrying pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district. Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut, along with Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Anand, and Anupam Kher, expressed their outrage and extended condolences to the families of the victims.
Bollywood and a few actors like Kangana Denounces Cowardly Attack
Kangana Ranaut voiced her condemnation on Twitter, stating,
“I strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack on the pilgrims in Reasi, Jammu & Kashmir. I pray for the departed and hope for the swift recovery of the injured.
Om shanti.” Varun Dhawan echoed these sentiments on Instagram, sharing,

Siddharth Anand and Anupam Kher Speak Out
Director Siddharth Anand, known for his film inspired by the 2019 Pulwama attack, posted an image stating, “All eyes on Vaishno Devi attack.” He added, “Despicable. Evil. Unpardonable. Innocent pilgrims. Children. Murdered by COWARDS. (broken heart emoji).” Anupam Kher also shared pictures of the victims, writing, “Angry, Pained and Saddened by the cowardly attack on pilgrims in Reasi. Jammu! May Almighty give the loved ones of victims the strength to bear the pain and loss. Prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured.”

Details of the Attack
The victims were primarily pilgrims visiting the Vaishno Devi temple. Reasi senior superintendent of police, Mohita Sharma, explained, “Today, a group of militants attacked a Yatri bus coming from Ransoo area of district Reasi. Due to the attack, the driver of the bus lost control and the bus fell into a deep gorge near Kanda area of Pouni. Nine people died and 33 others were injured in the accident.
