World-renowned cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, also known as “Captain Cool,” is one of the most well-known figures in Indian cricket history and in the game. His contribution to Indian cricket is remarkable and unforgettable. MS Dhoni is the only captain who has led men in blue to lift all three ICC trophies.
For quite a long time, there have been rumors that the 41-year-old’s presence in the forthcoming IPL might be his last on a cricket field, but Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Deepak Chahar has denied these claims, saying that we may see him in future IPLs as well.
“Nobody has mentioned that this will be his last year. He hasn’t, at least. I’m hoping he plays more. We don’t know about any such thing; we want him to perform as much as he can”
the bowling all-arounder shared with News India Sports.
The former Indian skipper aka captain cool decided to step down from international cricket on August 15, 2020 and left everyone disheartened. He is the only Indian captain to date to have won every major trophy for his home country.
Cricket fans from all over the world are going crazy to see him in the upcoming opening match against the defending champion Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 31.
“We saw it when he retired from Test cricket and international cricket; he understands when to do so. Nobody else is aware. It’s an honor to play for him, so I just wish he keeps playing,” Deepak Chahar told the news agency.
CSK will attempt to come back strongly in IPL 2023 after placing second last the previous season. CSK only managed to win 4 of the 14 games in the 2022 season, but they expect to make a huge comeback with Dhoni as their captain.
