Boney Kapoor’s recent interview with a news portal has caused quite a stir in Bollywood, as he made some shocking revelations about various aspects of his life.
In his candid discussion, Boney Kapoor didn’t hold back from sharing details about several topics, including the long-awaited No Entry 2 project and confirming his daughter Janhvi Kapoor’s relationship with Shekhar Pahariya. However, one of the most unexpected revelations was regarding his relationship with his brother, Anil Kapoor.
Boney Kapoor Breaks Silence On Fight With Brother Anil Kapoor
During the interview with News18, Boney Kapoor revealed that his brother Anil Kapoor is upset with him for not casting him in No Entry 2. Boney clarified that the decision was made by the director Aneez Bazmee and not by him. The film is expected to feature actors like Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh, as per reports.
Anil Kapoor acted in the movie No Entry (2005), which featured Salman Khan, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta, Celina Jaitly, and Esha Deol.
When asked if not including Anil in No Entry 2 affected their relationship, Boney responded, “We’re brothers and we love each other!”
Boney added: “Yesterday, there were some people interviewing me and they asked me how has Anil reacted, so I said that he is upset with me, that he is not talking to me. Now, I had to be honest, I just can’t… but at the same time, I know that blood is thicker than water, and we’ve been very very close. I love him too dearly, I just can’t do anything to hurt him. This is something professional, so I have to follow the diktat of the director, who calls the shots.”
He added: “So, I’ll continue making films when the role is right, when the script is there. He would be my first choice if the role suits him. I love him too dearly too to remain upset, I mean I am not upset today, he is upset, but I’ll work my way to see that he gets back to normal.”
When asked if he tried talking to him, Boney said, “Yes, I made a few calls… but it’s ok, I’ll give him some time.”
Boney Kapoor mentioned that this matter will be resolved over time because it’s not a fight. He said: “See, you have these ups and downs amongst the people you love the most. Husband-wife have their own quarrels, friends have their own quarrels, brothers also have their own issues. No quarrel, there is not a quarrel, there is an issue and they resolve over time. He is too dear to me, I’ll make an effort to see that he’s back again talking to me and all that and it’ll be fine,”
The tension between the Kapoor brothers is notable, especially considering Boney’s significant role in Anil’s career. Boney has played a crucial part in launching Anil’s career in the Hindi film industry and has supported some of his most successful films, such as the iconic “Mr India” and “Judaai.”
Filmmaker Anees Bazmee has commented on the reported disagreement between the Kapoor brothers, Anil and Boney, expressing his surprise at the news. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Bazmee said:
“This is news to me. Thodi bahut naraazgi hogi. I haven’t been able to speak to Boney ji as I was busy shooting Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. No Entry was an important film. Agar uske sequel mein nahin hain toh naturally aadmi ko hurt hoga. Boney ji must have had his reasons, too.”
He added: “They are brothers… Tomorrow they will meet and hug each other. They both love each other,”
