As the majority of people have experienced, long queues at the airport are quite frustrating, isn’t it? What could be more frustrating than that? Now imagine the situation where you are asked to strip during the security check.
Recently, an incident happened at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport. The woman tweeted about the same and asked for an explanation from the airport authorities about why she was humiliated in front of so many people like that. However, the tweet was removed as the passenger’s account has been deleted. Here is what happened.
A woman named Krishani Gadhvi alleged that she was asked to take her shirt off during the security check at the Bengaluru airport
She described that the experience was ‘humiliating’. While narrating everything on Twitter, she contested why the Bengaluru airport requires a woman to strip during a security check.
As she has to remove her shirt, she had to stand at the security checkpoint wearing only a camisole that unfortunately gathered unwanted attention.
The infuriated passenger mentioned in the now-deleted tweet,
“I was asked to remove my shirt at Bengaluru airport during security check. It was humiliating to stand there at the security checkpoint wearing just a camisole and getting the kind of attention you’d never want as a woman. @BLRAirport Why would you need a woman to strip?”
Her tweet went viral in an instant and grabbed a lot of attention, including the Bengaluru airport, here is what they said,
The accused airport expressed their regret and assured that the issue has been escalated to the security team, they replied,
“Hello @KrishaniGadhvi, we deeply regret the hassle caused and this should not have happened. We have highlighted this to our operations team and also escalated it to the security team managed by CISF (Central Industrial Security force) a Government sovereign.”
They also requested Gadhvi’s contact information to know about the details of the incident.
“Kindly DM your contact details for our team to connect with you at the earliest”
As she did not mention her travel details, it is not clear if Gadhvi was traveling domestically or internationally. International passengers are being screened for Covid-19 at the Kempegowda International Airport. Home quarantine has been made mandatory for those traveling from six countries including China and Japan.
Take a look at how the netizens reacted to the woman’s unpleasant experience
