At your own wedding/reception, what would you wear? That which you find to be the most pleasing to the eye and the most agreeable to the body is the most appropriate. The same thing happened to Kiara Advani when she tried it. She broke with Hindu custom by not wearing a mangal sutra and sindoor, and people are criticizing her for it. She chose to dress in all black instead of any other colour.
Kiara Advani is being mocked for wearing a simple black and white outfit instead of the traditional red carpet garb that would have included sindoor, mangal sutra, and chooda.
One user commented: “No mangalsutra and no sindoor. Again Black. Our culture is full of colours. Why brides can’t wear dark beautiful colours.”
Another commented: “She needs to hire some other designer. Bad choice of clothes”.

Photos of Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani having a wonderful time at their reception in Mumbai were posted online by the couple’s designer friend, Manish Malhotra. The newlyweds are seen here in some fresh photos, all dressed to the nines.
Kiara wore a Manish Malhotra–designed pink lehenga in the wedding. Because of their shared affection for the city of domes, the lehenga is embroidered with ornate designs reminiscent of Roman architecture. Authentic Swarovski crystals serve as accents, embodying our trademark glimmer.
The new bride wore a diamond necklace and earrings by Manish Malhotra on her wedding day. The rare Zambian emeralds complement the hand-cut diamonds in the necklace’s stunning design. A diamond ring was seen on her finger.
And Sidharth wore an ivory sherwani. Handcrafted with the highest delicacy, the sherwani has traditional hallmarks such as traces of ivory threadwork, gold zardozi, and badla work. For the last touch, he wore polki jewelry set with very pure uncut diamonds, which emphasized his royal status.
On February 7, at a resort called Suryagarh Palace in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer region, the Shershaah couple exchanged vows in front of their closest family and friends. On February 12, they celebrated with family and friends in Delhi and afterwards in Mumbai. Several famous people, including Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Kajol, Gauri Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and many more, were present at the lavish party.
Kiara and Sidharth’s relationship has always been a well-guarded secret. The couple did not confirm or deny the relationship rumours that were circulating around them. According to the 2021 film Shershaah, Sidharth and Kiara met on the set and fell in love.
