Air travel is usually a relaxing experience. Waiting around for hours at an airport, though, is certain to dampen anyone’s spirits.
Wait times at airports have long been a problem, particularly during peak travel seasons and in overcrowded terminals. Missed flights, increased stress, lower productivity, and security concerns are just some of the issues that may arise from having to wait for an extended amount of time.
It’s an issue for everyone on the road, whether you’re a regular Joe or a famous CEO. Ashneer Grover, a co-founder of BharatPe, has lately been through some kind of ordeal.
Recently, Ashneer Grover vented his frustration with the delays at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Twitter.
Apparently, it took Grover about half an hour to go through security, a wait that is par for the course at this airport due to a large number of people and aircraft.
Grover took to Twitter to express his displeasure with the airport’s check-in procedures and to provide some recommendations for improving efficiency.
Delhi airport @DelhiAirport T3 needs an overhaul ! 30 minutes to just enter airport is insane. Suggestions 1) Separate gates for international / business 2) 2 people at gate to check ticket / id (why 3 people check boarding pass between boarding gate and aircraft ? Move them !)

3) Please start flights to US / Canada / UK from Chandigarh Airport – Delhi airport is actually Punjab airport practically. All the people travelling to Delhi from Punjab daily to catch international flight is just waste of resources

Delhi Airport has been the target of complaints about its management before. Just a year ago, many passengers grumbled about the crowding at Terminal 3, and some even missed their flights because of the wait times at the different pre-boarding counters.
When the situation at IGI became critical, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia went there to assess the congestion. Hence, the government has asked airlines to deploy more workers at airports.
The government also mandated that airlines provide real-time information on their social media pages about flight delays, wait times, and the augmentation of staff at check-in desks. The Center also suggested that visitors use the DigiYatra app to check in quickly and easily.
