The next episode of Indian Idol Season 13 will feature legendary vocalist AR Rahman and renowned director Rajkumar Santoshi. A clip from the broadcast shows the singer and the director walking in together, to cheers from the crowd, the judges, and the other candidates.
Rahman walked in wearing stylish sunglasses and can be heard saying, “I feel very good coming back. I like to scare them so I can bring them back to Chennai with me and record a song with them.”
When Rahman performed “Yeh Jo Des Hai Tera” from the film Swades, he captivated not only the audience but also the other musicians in the band, including Vishal Dadlani, Himesh Reshammiya, and others. A standing ovation was given to the composer-singer at the conclusion of his brief set.

When a participant performs “Kal Ho Naa Ho,” director Karan Johar breaks down in tears in another advertisement. The filmmaker reflected, “The title of the film was Kal Ho Naa Ho, but it turned out to be real. We were singing the song Kal Ho Naa Ho and papa’s treatment was going on in the hospital.” After the contestant’s moving performance, Johar is seen wiping away tears. Season 13 of Indian Idol can be shown on Sony TV on Saturdays and Sundays at 8 p.m.
