AR Rahman, who is known to be one of the most loved and talented musicians of India, has grabbed all the limelight off-lately but sadly for all the wrong reasons.
Over the years, the musician has expressed his love for the Tamil language. He had also talked about the imposition of the Hindi language quite a lot of times, which hasn’t gone down well with the fans.
AR Rahman stopped his wife from speaking Hindi
Recently, the world-renowned musician attended an award show with his wife and became the talk of the town as he stopped his wife Saira Banu from speaking in Hindi and asked her to speak in Tamil.
Yes, you read that right. Rahman attended an awards show with his wife Saira Banu in Chennai. During the show, the anchor invited Saira on stage to speak a few words. In a video shared by a Twitter user, Saira also held an award in her hand. As Saira stood next to him, AR Rahman talked in Tamil,
“I don’t like to watch my interviews again. She keeps playing again and again and watching because she loves my voice.”
Saira Banu just smiled as he said this. The anchor then asked Saira to say a few words. Before Saira could address the audience and say something, AR Rahman told her,
“Don’t talk in Hindi, speak in Tamil.”
To this, Saira closed her eyes and said,
“Oh, my God.”
She added:
“Good evening everyone. Sorry, I can’t speak fluently in Tamil. So, please excuse me. I am super, super happy, and excited because his voice is my favorite. I fell in love with his voice. That’s all I can say.”
In case you don’t know, AR Rahman tied the knot with Saira Banu in 1995. They are proud parents to three children – Khatija, Raheema, and Ameen.

In another incident, recently, famous singer Madhushree bagged three awards in succession for her song Mallipoo from the Tamil film Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu. Expressing her happiness, the talented singer took to her social media and wrote:
“Hattrick Anana Davikatan awards on March 30, Behindwoods Gold Icons awards on April 1, JFW awards on April 2 for Mallipoo song in Chennai.”
AR Rahman was quick to notice the tweet and come up with a reply to it. While he congratulated the singer for her achievement, he also didn’t refrain from taking a jibe at her as he also shared a link to a page on ‘what is the fastest way to learn Tamil’ on Quora.
