Anand Mahindra expressed his appreciation after the film ’12th Fail’ clinched the title of Best Film (Popular) at the 69th Filmfare Awards.
The event, held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, witnessed the triumph of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Animal” and Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s “12th Fail.”
The latter, featuring Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar, portrays the real-life story of IPS officer Manoj Sharma and garnered widespread acclaim.

In the male category, the Best Actor in a Leading Role award was bestowed upon Ranbir Kapoor for his performance in “Animal,” while Alia Bhatt secured the corresponding honor in the female category for her role in “Rocky Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.”
The accolade for Best Film (Critics) was presented to the Manoj Bajpayee-starrer “Joram.” Vikrant Massey was honored with the Best Actor (Critics) award for his role in “12th Fail,” and the Best Actress (Critics) title was jointly shared by Rani Mukerji for “Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway” and Shefali Shah for “Three of Us.”
Notably, this edition of the Filmfare Awards marked the first time it spanned two days, with the Technical Awards ceremony taking place on Saturday, followed by the presentation of other trophies on Sunday.
