Renowned industrialist Anand Mahindra recently lauded the entrepreneurial spirit of Tapsi Upadhyay, a 22-year-old street food vendor from New Delhi known as “B Tech Panipuri Wali.” Mahindra, who is active on social media and often highlights innovative startups, took to platform X to commend Tapsi for her efforts.
Originally from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Tapsi initiated her venture by selling pani puri from a modest cart in Tilak Nagar.
Under the brand “B Tech Panipuri Wali,” she has expanded her business to over 40 stalls across India. Last year, a video of Tapsi towing her paani puri cart with a Royal Enfield went viral.
In the shared video on platform X, Tapsi is seen effortlessly pulling her cart with a Mahindra Thar, an iconic off-road vehicle.
Mahindra, expressing his admiration, emphasized the unique ability of off-road vehicles to “help people explore the impossible” in his post.
Sir Anand Mahindra tweeted:
“What are off-road vehicles meant to do? Help people go places they haven’t been able to before. Help people explore the impossible. And in particular, we want OUR cars to help people Rise & live their dreams. Now you know why I love this video….”

Just watched this video and had an amusing realization — we often see men whipping up Pani Puri at the stalls and shops, but at home, it's a different story; the women take the lead. Quite the culinary plot twist, isn't it? 🤔
