Amitabh Bachchan, the highly acclaimed Bollywood actor renowned for his acting and opulent lifestyle, has recently acquired a plot in Ayodhya for a reported sum of Rs 14.5 crores. This acquisition adds to his impressive portfolio of properties.
The plot is situated within The Sarayu, a 7-star mixed-use enclave spanning 51 acres, developed by Mumbai-based firm, The House of Abhinandan Lodha. The official launch of this project is scheduled for January 22, 2024, coinciding with the inauguration of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The purchased plot, spanning 10,000 square feet, holds a valuation of Rs.14.5 crores, according to sources in the real estate industry. Amitabh Bachchan, expressing his connection to Ayodhya, shared his anticipation for constructing a home in the city, which holds significant spiritual importance.
Born in Allahabad, a four-hour drive from Ayodhya, Amitabh highlighted that The Sarayu is conveniently located, being only 15 minutes away from the Ram temple and 30 minutes away from the Ayodhya International Airport. He expressed his eagerness to embark on this venture with The House of Abhinandan Lodha, emphasizing the emotional connection he feels towards Ayodhya and its cultural richness.

Notably, this isn’t the only recent real estate move by Amitabh Bachchan. He has also leased out his expansive office space in Oshiwara, Mumbai, to Warner Music India Limited, earning an annual rent of Rs. 2.07 crores for a five-year term. Additionally, the actor gifted his cherished bungalow, Pratiksha, to his daughter Shweta Bachchan, in November 2023, through separate gift deeds, each corresponding to specific plots within the property. The bungalow, valued at Rs. 50.63 crores, involved a stamp duty payment of Rs. 50.65 lakhs for the transfer deed.
As for his professional endeavors, Amitabh Bachchan, known for hosting the popular quiz show “Kaun Banega Crorepati,” bid an emotional farewell during the final episode of the latest season. Expressing gratitude to his audience, he thanked them with folded hands, marking the end of an era for the show. On a related note, The Sarayu project is expected to be completed by March 2028.
