Once again Abhay Deol and Anurag Kashyap are in Limelight because of controversial statement given by Abhay for the Filmmaker. In 2020, Anurag Kashyap revealed that it was not easy for him to work with Abhay Deol and now in latest interview, Abhay took a dig on Anurag by addressing him as a ‘gas lighter’.

In latest interview, Abhay address Anurag as a ‘gas lighter’.2 years ago, in an interview, Anurag confessed that it was ‘painfully difficult’ for him to work with Abhay Deol. After Dev D, Anurag and Abhay Parted ways and never collaborated again.
Anurag Kashyap was the director of Romantic Black Comedy Dev D which was based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic Bengali novel Devdas.
The movie was released on 6 February 2009 starring Abhay, Kalki Koechlin, Mahie Gill and Dibyendu Bhattacharya.
In recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Abhay gave Anurag Kashyap the title of ‘Gas lighter’ during a rapid fire round, when he was asked to described him in one word during rapid fire round.
This statement was out only after a day when Abhay told Hindustan Times, how he feels about being ‘gaslit’ for staying real and true to himself. He added,
“Everything comes with its pros and cons. Where I come from, I know I have been gaslit for who I am. You call in a lot of aggression to you because you’re doing something and managing to get away with that. And a lot of people want to be able to do that and they can’t. So they project on you. Sometimes, that ignorance can come across as arrogance and I know it has a few times. Gaslighting, for those who don’t know, is when an emotionally abusive person, manipulates someone into doubting their own sanity”
Back then in 2020, in conversation with HuffPost India, Anurag confessed,
“It was painfully difficult to work with him. I don’t really have great working memories with him. And haven’t talked to him much since I finished shooting. He wanted to do artistic movies but also wanted the mainstream benefits. The benefits and luxuries of being a ‘Deol’. He would stay in a five-star hotel while the entire crew stayed in Paharganj for a film that was made on a very tight budget. Also the reason a lot of his directors went away from him.”
