Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor is one of the most loved personalities on social media. He is known for sending social media into a tizzy every time he speaks in English and shows his vocabulary skills.
However, he is often seen at the receiving end of trolling for his English vocabulary. Jokes on his vocabulary are not new, however, a recent video by a stand-up comedian has taken the internet by a storm.
Well, it was a couple of days back, Pakistan-based stand-up comedian Akbar Chaudry took to his social media and shared a hilarious video mocking Shashi Tharoor.
In the 35-seconds-video featuring Akbar Chaudry shared three steps on how to speak fluent English like Shashi Tharoor. One of the hilarious steps involved the comedian literally making a drink out of the Oxford Dictionary and then consuming it. The other steps showed him getting a ‘blood transfusion’ with the Oxford Dictionary on one side and Tharoor’s speech on the other. Sharing the video, Shashi wrote:
“How to speak English like @ShashiTharoor”

Shashi was quick to notice the video and came up with an epic reply. Instead of getting offended, Shashi took the video sportingly and wrote a funny reply to it. In his reply, he asked the comedian to make the next video on their Prime Minister Imran Khan. He wrote:
“Next one on @ImranKhanPTI please?> @AkbarChaudry”

I would say students appearing for IELTS or GRE must stop using vocabulary flashcards and start listening speeches & interviews given by @ShashiTharoor sir… 😅

Refreshing to see a top level Indian politician embracing social media in a healthy way. Not afraid to laugh at himself.
And not afraid to tag someone else from outside the border.
