After numerous anticipated movies failed to bring back the audience to the theatres, Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 2 seems to have broken the curse of Bollywood’s continuous failures. The film got released on November 19and has managed to collect Rs 37 crores in India just in a couple of days. On its third day, the film went on to collect Rs 27 crore at the Indian box office, making a total collection of Rs 64 crore in three days.
It is evident from the 3 days collection of the film that it will cross the 100-crore mark in the coming days.
According to the reports, in some cities, the demand for tickets increased at such a rapid rate that the theatre owners had to start the late-night and early-morning shows of the film.
Early Morning and Late-Night Shows are back in theatres with Drishyam 2 success
Theatres in Mumbai and Maharashtra included 12:30 am and 7 am shows on Saturday and Sunday after witnessing the rapidly increasing demand for the anticipated movie on Friday.
Maxus Borivali started 6:00 AM, 6:45 AM and 7:30 am shows for the weekend while PVR Oberoi Mall started a new slot of 1:15 am. Delhi cinemas followed the same on Sunday.
Reportedly, experts and critics are expecting that the film will continue to do well during the whole month. Well, it will be justifying saying that Ajay Devgn’s crime thriller is definitely going to break the flop curse on Bollywood.
The Hindi film Industry witnessed back-to-back flops this year. Movies like Samrat Prithviraj, Laal Singh Chaddha, Raksha Bandhan, Vikram Vedha, Ram Setu, and others brutally failed to perform at the box office and only a few movies like The Kashmir Files, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and Brahmastra managed to cross the 100 crore mark.
Directed by Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam 2 also Features Akshaye Khanna, Tabu, Sriya Saran ,and Ishita Dutta in prominent roles.
