Balkaur Singh, the father of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, recently disclosed facing harassment from the government following the birth of his second child. Despite enduring the tragic loss of their son, Sidhu Moosewala, to a fatal incident in Punjab’s Mansa district, Balkaur Singh and his wife, Charan Kaur, encountered further challenges after welcoming their newborn.
Taking to his Instagram account on March 19, 2024, Balkaur Singh shared a video expressing his distress over government harassment, particularly regarding the legitimacy of his new child.
He expressed gratitude for the return of their lost son but lamented the government’s demands for documentation proving the legality of the newborn.
“Due to the blessings of Waheguru, we got our Shubhdeep (Sidhu Moosewala) back. However, the government has been harassing me since morning, asking me to furnish documents of the baby. They are questioning me to prove that this child is legal.”
In a direct message to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Balkaur Singh requested patience until his wife’s treatment was completed, assuring full cooperation and submission of all necessary legal documents regarding the birth of their child.
“I want to request the government, particularly chief minister Bhagwant Mann, to till the treatment of my wife gets over. I belong here and will come to any place you call me (for questioning)…I will provide all the legal documents.”

Meanwhile, on March 17, 2024, Balkaur Singh shared the first picture of his newborn on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the love received for Sidhu Moosewala and thanking well-wishers for the blessings that ensured the health of their family.
