After struggling in the initial three seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made a significant change by appointing Gautam Gambhir as captain in 2011. Under his leadership, KKR won two titles in the next three seasons. Despite a disappointing seventh-place finish in 2023, KKR brought back Gambhir as a mentor for the team for IPL 2024.

KKR started the ongoing IPL 2024 tournament on a winning note by defeating SRH by 4 runs at the Eden Garden. After the stellar win, Bollywood’s king Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, who is also the co-owner of the IPL team, made a surprise visit to the team’s dressing room to meet the players.
The video shared by Kolkata Knight Riders’ official X account shows Shah Rukh Khan entering the room and expressing gratitude to all the players. He said:
”All the best, congratulations and God bless you all. Be healthy, keep playing as well as you do. Thank you Chandu (Chandrakant Pandit) Sir. Thank you Abhishek (Nayar). Thank you Venky Sir. And especially thank you Gauti (Gautam Gambhir) for being back. God bless you all”.

In the video, assistant coach Abhishek Nayar can be seen in discussion with Shah Rukh Khan. Before that, Shah Rukh Khan met Rinku Kumar and took a photo with his family. Rinku shared the picture on Instagram, captioning it, “The ones who make my heart smile.”
