Shah Rukh Khan is a beloved Bollywood actor who has been called various names, including Badshah and King Khan. The actor, who started on television in 1988 before breaking into Bollywood, has amassed a worldwide fanbase of millions thanks to his great filmography, as well as his funny quips, inspirational quotations, and other public statements.
But what does he think of up-and-coming performers like Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan drawing comparisons to him?
Well, the ‘Pathaan’ of Bollywood discussed it in a past interview, and his thoughts are included here.
An old interview with Shah Rukh Khan has surfaced on Reddit, in which he was asked about other actors like Ranbir Kapoor who are often held up as examples of the industry’s rising stars. When asked if he also has competition from younger and older actors and what he thinks of this trend, the Badshah of Bollywood said
, “No, I don’t have any competition. So here’s the deal: I’m going to be completely forthright. Not out of any sense of arrogance or conceit on my part. I shrug and say, “I don’t have any rivals.”
The Dunki actor added,
“When an actor or an actress says I want to beat Shah Rukh Khan, I want to be Shah Rukh Khan -bring it on. That’s absolutely alright. Personally, I would say, don’t mess with this (while pointing at himself). I would tell my son this ‘Don’t mess with this. Don’t… Do your job. Be nice. Be Aryan Khan. Become Suhana Khan. Try and be whoever you want to be.”
