Before the opening match of IPL 2024, Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill took on the role of a priest briefly to recreate David Miller’s wedding moment in the team’s camp.
A video shared by GT showed Gill officiating a ceremony for Miller and his wife, Camilla Harris, allowing the newlyweds to relive their special moment.

For the unversed, Miller had married his long-time girlfriend, Camilla, on March 10 in a private ceremony before the start of the IPL 2024 season. In the video, Gill can be seen asking the couple to redo the ceremony for everyone to enjoy.
“I know Millie, you have waited a long time for this moment. Here’s a ring for both you guys if you can redo the whole ceremony for us here,” said Gill.
The GT captain also reminded his teammate to be a gentleman and propose on one knee. “Go down on one knee man. Do it like a gentleman,” said Gill.

After his role as a ‘priest’, Gill will now focus on leading the Gujarat Titans this season. Gill was chosen as the captain by the one-time IPL Champions after Hardik Pandya departed from the team to rejoin the Mumbai Indians and take over as their new skipper.
Gill has the full support of Ashish Nehra and the rest of the coaching staff, and he is prepared to embrace his new role as captain. Gill said:
“I am delighted and proud to assume the Captaincy of Gujarat Titans and thank the franchise for their trust in me to lead such a fine team. We have had two exceptional seasons and I keenly look forward to leading the team with our exciting brand of cricket,”
Gill’s debut as Gujarat Titans’ captain will be against Mumbai Indians on March 24 in Ahmedabad.
