The episode, featuring Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer’s lighthearted banter with Kapil Sharma, premiered on Netflix on Saturday. In one amusing exchange, Rohit jokingly mentioned that he wouldn’t want to share a room with Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan and Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant, referring to them as “messy.”
“Everyone gets a single room nowadays. But if I get a chance to share a single room, there are two people with whom I wouldn’t want to share rooms with – Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant. Bade gande hai (They are very messy). After practice, they just toss their clothes on the bed,” Rohit said on the Great Indian Kapil Show.

Rohit further disclosed that Dhawan and Pant tend to sleep until late in the afternoon, and their hotel rooms are usually marked with “Do Not Disturb (DND)”.Â
“Their room is always on DND because they sleep till 1PM. The housekeeping staff that comes in the morning to clean their rooms, so it’s important for them to put their rooms on DND. Otherwise, they will barge in. That’s why their rooms often stay messy for three to four days. It becomes a problem for the people staying around them. So, I don’t think I will be able to stay with them,” he added.
Rohit led India in the ODI World Cup last year on home soil, where unfortunately the hosts lost to Australia in the final. Despite expecting fans to be angry at them for losing the final at home, Rohit expressed surprise at the support he and the team received for their performance.
“I was thinking that the World Cup took place in our country but still we couldn’t win. I felt the nation might be angry with us. But I only heard people praising how well we played, and how they enjoyed watching that cricket,” said Rohit.
Rohit is currently playing for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024. However, he lost his captaincy to Hardik Pandya ahead of the season.
