Arun Govil, known for his role as Lord Ram in the iconic television series “Ramayan,” experienced disappointment during his visit to the newly inaugurated Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
The city has gained widespread attention as the temple at Lord Ram’s birthplace was inaugurated, marking the fulfillment of a long-standing goal initiated in the 1980s. The ceremony, officiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22, witnessed millions of viewers on television.
While the event garnered global interest and was attended by prominent figures like Mukesh Ambani and Amitabh Bachchan, the participation of “Ramayan” actors Arun Govil and Dipika added a nostalgic touch.
Despite the overall significance of the occasion, Arun Govil expressed his dissatisfaction with the experience.
Arun Govil, invited as an esteemed guest, revealed that he was not allowed to have the darshan (sacred viewing) of Ram Lalla. In a statement, he conveyed a mix of fulfillment and longing, stating that his dream had been fulfilled, but he could not have the darshan at that moment.
In an interview he stated,

Before the inauguration, Arun Govil, along with his co-stars Dipika Chiklia and Sunil Lahiri, had traveled to Ayodhya to film their album “Hamare Ram Aayenge.” During this visit, he emphasized the immense cultural significance of the Ram temple, foreseeing it as the “Rashtra Mandir” that would uphold India’s culture.
Reflecting on the grandeur of the consecration ceremony, Arun Govil expressed astonishment, describing it as the most significant event of his life. He emphasized the unexpected joy of being present for such a momentous occasion and commented on the profound emotional intensity and national resonance associated with Lord Ram’s name.
