Recently, Indian Cricket Team lost the 2nd T20I against Sri Lanka by 16 runs in Pune. Sri Lanka posted a total of 206 runs in the 1st innings and India could only manage to score 190 runs in 20 overs.
During Sri Lanka’s batting, Bowler Arshdeep Singh bowled 5 no balls and 3 of them came as a hat trick to Kusal Mendis. The men-in-blue gave away 12 extras as Shivam Mavi and Umran Malik also bowled a no-ball each.
Team India’s captain Hardik Pandya said that bowling “no-ball is a crime”. During the post-match presentation, Hardik Pandya said
“In the past Arshdeep Singh has bowled no-balls. It is not about blaming but no ball is a crime”.
During India vs Sri Lanka match, Arshdeep Singh made a record that wasn’t something to be happy about as he became the bowler with the most no-balls in an over for India.
Pandya also stated that team India wasn’t good both with bat and ball in the 2nd T20I against Sri Lanka.
He spoke,
“Both bowling and batting powerplay hurt us. We made basic errors which we shouldn’t do at this level. Learning should be the basics we can control. You can have a bad day but shouldn’t be going away from basics. In this situation, it is very difficult”.
Hardik further mentioned that he gave Rahul Tripathi a chance ahead of Suryakumar Yadav because wanted to give him a comfortable position to bat during the 207-run chase.
