Manushi Chhillar’s fourth film was ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, co-starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, recently released on April 11th, 2024. This movie marked her second collaboration with Akshay Kumar after ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi.
Manushi Chillar Finally Reacts To Backlash Over 30-Year Age Gap With Co-Star Akshay Kumar
During a candid interview with Zoom, Manushi addressed the ongoing social media discussions regarding the significant age gap between herself and Akshay Kumar. It has to be noted that Manushi Chillar is aged 26 and is paired opposite Akshay Kumar, who is aged 56. The duo have an age-difference of 30-years.
Responding to the queries about this debate, she stated, “Working with a superstar is good. You get a certain amount of visibility. If I talk about my first film, there was an age gap. They wanted to play the whole thing. In this film, there was no pairing. We did songs for marketing. There had to be a way to put two people together for the songs, but that’s pretty much it, which is fine. I don’t see it as something that was atrocious or something that shouldn’t have been there. It wasn’t like a love story anyway.”
Manushi, who clinched the Miss World title in 2017, originates from Rohtak. Prior to her foray into beauty pageants, she pursued an MBBS degree at Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College in Sonipat. Additionally, she possesses expertise in Kuchipudi dance.
After her debut in ‘Samrat Prithviraj,’ she starred in ‘The Great Indian Family,’ helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, where she shared the screen with Vicky Kaushal in a social comedy-drama.
In Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘BMCM,’ Manushi essayed the role of Captain Misha. The film, headlined by Akshay and Tiger, also included Alaya F, Sonakshi Sinha, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Ronit Roy, and others in pivotal roles. Her next venture is Pawan Gopalan’s political action-thriller ‘Tehran,’ where she shares the screen with John Abraham and Neeru Bajwa in significant roles.
In “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” Akshay Kumar is playing the role of Captain Firoz aka Freddy, while Tiger Shroff is playing the character of Captain Rakesh aka Rocky. This action-packed entertainer also features Sonakshi Sinha and Alaya F in significant roles.
The film had an extended weekend release on Thursday, April 11, coinciding with Eid al-Fitr. It grossed Rs 15.65 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 7.6 crore on Friday, Rs 8.5 crore on Saturday, and Rs 9 crore on Sunday.
However, there was a noticeable drop on the first Monday, with earnings of just Rs 2.5 crore. After eight days in theaters, the film has surpassed the Rs 50 crore mark, currently standing at Rs 51.40 crore according to Sacnilk statistics.
