Television actor and host, Karan Kundrra expressed his displeasure over Poonam Pandey’s fake death publicity stunt. Poonam Pandey, who is known for her never-ending controversies, took to Instagram to announce that she is alive and has not succumbed to cervical cancer. This clarification comes a day after her manager had announced her death from cervical cancer.
On Saturday morning, Poonam Pandey released a video statement, clarifying that she is alive. She also explained that the purpose behind the death news was to raise awareness about cervical cancer. However, this ‘awareness stunt’ has received criticism from netizens, including her friends. She said:
“I am alive. I didn’t die of cervical cancer. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the hundreds and thousands of women who have lost their lives due to cervical cancer.”
She added: “I am sorry caused this tear and I am sorry to those I have hurt. My intention: to shock everyone into the conversation that we are not talking enough about – cervical cancer,”
She explained that her “death” post was an attempt to start a conversation and raise awareness about cervical cancer.
“Unlike some other cancers, Cervical Cancer is entirely preventable. The key lies in the HPV vaccine and early detection tests. We have the means to ensure no one loses their life to this disease,” she said.
